Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. The 1.35 million members of the Lions volunteer organization in 206 countries and geographic areas are different in many ways, but share a core belief – community is what we make it

The Birchwood Lions work to give back to the Birchwood Community by giving financial support to numerous organizations and events. They also create a sense of togetherness by putting on the annual Bluegill Festival and work to "Serve" in any way they can.

With 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members, the Lions make up the world's largest service club organization, as well as the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.
